In the Spring of 2010, The Adams 12 Education Foundation graciously awarded Riverdale Elementary with a technology grant that will provide 9 STAR Carts to the building, enabling us to have one in each K-5 classroom (plus a few others in the building)! A STAR Cart consists of a Dell Latitude Netbook computer, an LCD Projector, document camera, and a speaker on a moveable cart. This set up enables teachers to access immeasurable amounts of presentation features to their teaching on a daily basis. It is our hope that students will be able to interact with the technology tools in the classrooms regularly as well. We are very grateful for this grant and the STAR Carts will be utilized each day in the building.
Mrs. Lott and Ms. Zoeller as well as her second grade class were featured in a short article about this grant in the May Edition of the Five Star Journal (page 3). The photo seen here is of Deb Haviland, Director of the Education Foundation, Mr. Terrill, Mrs. Lott, David Bonnsett, Director of IT, and Julie Bowline, Director of IT and Library Services. A few tech saavy fifth graders are also in the snapshot.
